Club Captains 6 Monthly Report 2006
So far the weather has been fine on Tuesdays for our competitions and only wet one Saturday. May it continue.
Teams Tournament. Held on Friday 10th February was a great success with a profit of $471.00.
Plunket Tournament. The annual fundraising for the local Branch of Plunket was held on Tuesday 21st March and raised the handsome sum of$897.00.
Interclub. A new format has been introduced this year with two games a month being played.
Our 18 Hole Team (6 players per team) have progressed to the semi finals to be held at Weedons on Monday 12th June. Our 36 hole Bronze Team came 2nd in Zone play and our Weekend Team were 2nd in their Zone. Well done.
Boyle Cup. We are in our 3rd year of holding this trophy and on 29th May the sixteenth challenge was held and retained. We have our next game late June against Russley.
Well done ladies.
Raffle. Thank you to everybody for supporting the weekly Lotto Scratch raffle which is sold on Saturdays.
Catering. After 17 years with the same caterer we have had to accept changes in this area, but after many discussions with Mike and his staff we are getting around this.
The Course The Ladies are responding to Peter’s request to repair pitch marks and sand the divots. I am sure Peter has noticed us carrying our sand buckets. We have had 3 days of interclub and 3 Boyle Cup challenges and have received many favourable comments regarding the condition of the course from the visiting teams.
We have a lot more golf to play and enjoy, including Championships before Closing Day.
