KAIAPOI GOLF CLUB (INC) LADIES SECTION

SIX MONTHLY REPORT TO THE BOARD

2005

Once again the Ladies Committee has a full complement of hard working members.

Interclub:

This year we have four interclub teams. A 36 hole Silver and Bronze and an 18 hole Mid-Week and Weekend team. At the midway stage of the competition the 36 hole Bronze is sharing the lead and the Mid-Week 18 hole team is in second place. Well done Ladies and good luck for the remaining matches.

Open Teams Tournament:

Held in February this was a success. Although our numbers were down we managed to raise $514.00. Add this to the $960.00 raised at the Xmas Open in December it was a great effort by all.

National Teams Tournament:

This year this prestigious event was held at Weedons and our representatives were Kerry Williams, Sharon Worrall, Patricia Taylor and Maureen Van Koeverden who replaced a very disappointed Jean Blackwell who was injured.

The ladies did exceptionally well and were placed 4 th equal.

Canterbury v North Canterbury:

To be played at Amberley on Friday 27 th may. For the first time, we will be playing for North Canterbury and our representatives will be Janice Cattermole, Joan Parish, Kath Johnston, and Shona Green.

Boyle Cup:

We are still the proud caretakers of this trophy. We have now survived ten challengers from other Canterbury Clubs since August 2003. Our next challenge on Friday 20 th May is a local derby when Rangiora will attempt to wrest this from us. Go Kaiapoi!!

Greens representative:

The Ladies are very pleased to once again have Kerry as our representative and we are grateful for her efforts.

Plunket Tournament:

The annual fundraising tournament for the local branch of Plunket held on Tuesday 17 th May this year raised $1154.50.
