Men's Club Captain 12 Monthly Report 2006

As Club Captain for 2006/07 I would like to thank Neville & Steve for giving me this opportunity and hope that I have represented the club in the best possible way.  I would also like to thank my committee, helpers and last years retiring captain for the help they gave me through the year.

The club again had another successful year in both men’s and ladies competitions and I wish them even greater success next year.

The Kaiapoi C Team won everything in its path.  There was strong opposition from other Kaiapoi teams as well.

The Kaikoura Cup Team showed its true colours as well

The year has been very good with few problems.  The course has had a lot of work done on it and Peter & his team are doing a good job.

Next year is the clubs Centenary and lot of work in many areas is being done to make sure a great year will be had by all, coming to a climax on Saturday October 27th

The year will start with the Club Championships to avoid clashing with Canterbury fixtures.  A number of other competitions will also be labeled Centenary.

On the 27th October we will have big centenary tournament which will end with the Centenary Dinner & Guest Speaker.

This years Christmas competition (Joe Fox Trophy) is being run as an Ambrose and is being organized with help from Karl Mariu & Brian Ford.

I will not be standing for Club Captain next year as I am having a long holiday in the UK etc, so I wish the future Captain great success for the coming year.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Peter Furlong
