Garvey Wins Canterbury Young Sportswomen

Posted by: on 12 March 2018  The impressive performances from the 2017 year of Amelia Garvey were recognised at the 2018 Nexia Canterbury Sports Awards where she won the ASB Outstanding Young Sportswoman of the Year Award.  The evening recognises the achievements of talented athletes from the various sports as well as administrators and volunteers.  Over 130 nominations were received for the Nexia New Zealand Canterbury Sports Awards, representing 30 sporting codes. Richards Trophy & Cresswell Cup

Posted by: on 3 July 2017 The Richards Trophy and Cresswell Cup annual fixtures were played at Ellesmere Golf club yesterday in overcast, cool winter conditions with the course in great order. The Richards Trophy was played between the winner of Metropolitan A, Waimairi Beach and the Winner of the Templeton Cup, Kaiapoi Blue. The Kaiapoi team from left, Brian East, Dion Ratahi, Steve Cassidy, Rodney Downes, Graham Moore, Marc Palmer and Chris East defeated Waimairi Beach’s Steve Priest, Dominic Robinson, Tommy Lam, Craig Prior, Ron Marshall, Dave Smith, Carl Van Rees and Doug Bonner 5.5-2.5
