on winning the Inaugural 9 Hole Interclub for 2009.

Also, well done on the No 2 team playing off as well.

Interclub: On June 22nd our 18 hole team played at McLeans Island Golf Club in the semi final for the 18 Hole Interclub against Clearwater and at the end of the game were all square. Unfortunately the match was decided on countback of games and Clearwater prevailed 10 to 8. Well done girls, you did us proud.

The 9 hole teams are doing well and are within reach of one another at the top of the standings for the first year in this competition with still two rounds to play.

The weather improved to allow the playing of a Queen's Birthday Tournament. This was the initiative of the Fundraising Committee and a field of 73 braved winter weather. Given the conditions there were some excellent scores and over $660 was raised for the golf club.

INTERCLUB 08 Winners

Image - Weekend Interclub Final

What started in early February and finished on a cold Sunday in June, after seven rounds of tough golf, our team of Diane Brown, Jill Cassisy, Amanda Clancy, Lorraine Badger, Ailex Barnett, Kate Fogarty, Trish Taylor, Diane Wood & Sharon Worrall, finally can be named the Weekend Interclub Champions. The team who played in the Finals - Amanda, Jill, Trish and Di Brown were all very nervous teeing off at No 1 at Christchurch Golf Club against other finalists Avondale, but after nine holes our girls were up in every match, so we were starting to get more confident. The final result was a comprehensive 3 & 1/2 to 1/2 win to Kaiapoi, a great team effort by all the players and caddies. Well done.

The 18 hole team also played in the finals of the Interclub, but were unsuccessful this year against their old foes Clearwater. Well done to all the teams. The final results can be found in the Canterbury website.
